Construction of the Original Residence
The property began as a private home built for the original owners. Today, this historic structure is fully modernized and serves as our premier group rental, The Deckhouse.
By the Bay Motel Opens: Front Motel Building Construction
The property officially transitioned into a traveler's motel with the construction of the Front Motel Building. Operating as "By the Bay Motel," this addition introduced classic single king rooms to the property.

The Deckhouse Lower Level Expansion
The original owner's residence underwent its first major structural update to add more space. This project expanded the lower level, marking the first of several updates to the building over the years.
Back Motel building construction
The small cottages at the rear of the property were removed to build the Back Motel Building. This update introduced larger, more spacious double queen rooms to better accommodate families.

The Deckhouse: Upstairs Addition
The main house grew vertically with the addition of custom upstairs rooms. This expansion enhanced the layout and brought the building closer to its current multi-room configuration.
Comprehensive Motel Room Renovations
In September 2023, the property was bought under new ownership by The Refresh Collection and all guest rooms were stripped down for a complete renovation. The project updated the rooms to modern standards while preserving their original character.

Extensive Deckhouse Renovation
From late 2023 to early 2024, the historic main residence received a top-to-bottom modernization. The project delivered a new bathroom, remodeled bedrooms, and an updated kitchen and living space for group getaways.
Grand Reopening as Fresh Coast Motel
In May 2024, the property officially reopened to the public under a brand-new identity: the Fresh Coast Motel. Fully restored and reimagined, the landmark now offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern amenities.
